Give Up Anger by Walking in the Kindness of God

Ephesians 4:23-27, 31-32 NLT
“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behaviour. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”
Devotional
The apostle Paul, in his letter to the church in Ephesus, asks the believers to do something that is really difficult, he asks them to not allow anger, bitterness and frustration to get the best of them, but rather to engage in kindness, mercy and forgiveness. He says that they can do this hard thing by reminding themselves that this is the way that God has, and does operate towards them in their relationship with Him.

There are lots of reasons in life to justify & allow anger to get inside of us. It’s just that doing that doesn’t produce anything that is desirable for us in the long run.

Reminding ourselves how kind God is with us helps to inspire us towards being that way with others.

Meditation

We are never so weak as when we are at our angriest. The emotions and behaviours that are usually manifested in times of anger don’t ever seem to produce anything that most of us want to keep or repeat once anger leaves us. In the scripture above, the great antidote for anger and its associated emotions are the of embracing God inspired kindness, tenderness and forgiveness into our lives
To get rid of something means that we need to put it somewhere else; The best place to put our anger is at the feet of Jesus, thanking Him for His power to operate out of His kindness instead.
Daily Practice
As you go into your week ask God to manifest His kindness, tenderness and forgiveness in your interactions with people as you are at home, school, work or in the community#reboot2021 #hopeuc #easter2021
