Give up Worry by Trusting God and Putting Him first
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
When you stop to think about it, ‘worrying’ is simply putting trust in a negative outcome. Believing that the worst is surely going to occur. But with the same energy that it takes you and I to place our trust in a negative thought or circumstance, we also have the ability to take that trust and place it in our Saviour.
It’s a choice, and we must remember that worry is not our only option.
He has promised us He will walk through valleys and mountain tops with us. So today let go of the worries surrounding you and move your trust towards Him.
Reflection
As you receive communion each day this week declare the ‘firstness’ of God and His kingdom in your life and family
Practice
As a situation arises that would normally cause you to worry, take a moment and “pray first” rather than worry first.
