Give up Worry by Trusting God and Putting Him first<\/h1>\n
\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n
\u00a0Matthew 6:31-33 NKJV<\/strong>
\n\u201cTherefore do not worry, saying, \u2018What shall we eat?\u2019 or \u2018What shall we drink?\u2019 or \u2018What shall we wear?\u2019 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”<\/div>\n
Devotion<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n

When you stop to think about it, \u2018worrying\u2019 is simply putting trust in a negative outcome. Believing that the worst is surely going to occur. But with the same energy that it takes you and I to place our trust in a negative thought or circumstance, we also have the ability to take that trust and place it in our Saviour.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a choice, and we must remember that worry is not our only option.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Jesus teaches his disciples about giving up worry. This scripture includes an exhortation to not only \u2018not worry,\u2019 but reorientate our vision, thoughts and desires towards the Kingdom of God. To move away from selfish drives or motivation, and focus on His Kingdom, His resources and His righteousness.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
This challenge is then backed by a promise that God will take care of and provide for His people. So, the question then is, do you trust Him? Will you let go of your worries and fear, and instead place your trust in God\u2019s provision, protection, healing and deliverance?<\/div>\n

He has promised us He will walk through valleys and mountain tops with us. So today let go of the worries surrounding you and move your trust towards Him.<\/p>\n

\nAs you receive communion each day this week declare the ‘firstness’ of God and His kingdom in your life and family<\/p>\n

Practice<\/strong>
\nAs a situation arises that would normally cause you to worry, take a moment and \u201cpray first\u201d rather than worry first.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
